Dogs Welcome! Gold Paw Sponsor of the Puppy Up! Walk - Madison - 2015
Scroll down for more information and photos from this 2 mile walk to raise money for Canine-Human Cancer Research. Dogs develop many of the same types of cancer as people, including brain, breast, bone and lung cancer as well as lymphoma and melanoma. That’s why the second Puppy Up Walk Madison took place on May 3rd at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg. The walk raised $121,000 toward comparative canine-human research which can make cancer outcomes better for dogs and people!! Organized by the 2 Million Dogs, Puppy Up! Foundation
Dogs Welcome! wants to thank everyone that participated in making this year's walk a smashing success.
We'd like to extend a special thank you to the Dogs Welcome! team!
Greetings to the Dogs Welcome! Puppy Up! Team,
My sincere thanks to everyone who joined the Dogs Welcome! 2015 Puppy Up Team.
With your help, our team raised $4202 to help fund human and canine cancer research.
The DW! Team ended up 5th in fundraising out of 64 teams!
Also, please know that for the next 3 months, people can still donate through your personal page. So, if you forgot to ask somebody for a donation, there's still time.
Hope everybody enjoyed the day!
If you have pictures from the event you would like to share with Dogs Welcome! feel free to email them to me.
Thank you again for your participation and support. Cancer can make us all feel so helpless, but look how much we can do to help fight this disease when we all band together.
With much gratitude,
Dogs Welcome! Instructor DW! Puppy Up Team Captain
THANK YOU PUPPY UP MADISON 2015 SPONSORS!
Sunday, May 3, 2015 began with a rainbow. How fitting for an event that memorializes and honors those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
1000 people, 750 canines, 68 teams and 36 sponsors joined hand and paw for this year’s Madison event. A 2-mile walk led by 2 Million Dogs Founder, Luke Robinson, a demonstration from Scott Lindner and Odijin the K9 officer from the Dane County Sheriff’s Department, teams with custom designed shirts, food, music, and finally, honoring our canine and human cancer heroes, rounded out the day.
And to you, our sponsors. Your support and participation were key to the success in raising over $121,000.00 for Puppy Up Madison 2015!
As sponsors, you contributed 18% of total funds raised to provide research grants for the study of comparative oncology, and the links between canine and human cancer. Your generosity truly helped take a HUGE bite out of cancer!
On behalf of the Puppy Up Madison 2015 team, we send each of you PAWS of gratitude for all of your support for our second annual event. We so appreciate each of you.
Our team is already looking to 2016, with our continued mission of working to find a CURE.
